In each issue our editor, Kelly Kerksick, OD, offers valuable strategies to help you succeed based on her personal experience.

Dr. Kerksick received her Bachelor of Science degree in Plant Sciences from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1997 and is a 2002 graduate from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. Upon graduation, she founded Midwest Vision Care, LLC, in Columbia, Illinois, where she resides and practices.

Dr. Kerksick serves as a Key Opinion Leader for Bausch & Lomb. She has lectured internationally on contact lens science and is a frequent lecturer throughout the United States on contact lens care, practice management, electronic health records and information technology, as well as clinical communication. Dr. Kerksick has enjoyed international speaking engagements in London, England, Trinidad, Puerto Rico and Canada. Dr. Kerksick serves as the editor for the email optometric publication new O.D., and is on the advisory panel for Optometric Management, a monthly publication. She also served as a faculty member for The Vision Care Institute located in Jacksonville, Florida, and has served as a clinical examiner for the National Board of Optometry. The doctor has a large repertoire of articles that have been published in The Wall Street Journal, Optometric Management, Contact Lens Spectrum, Primary Eye Care News, Vision Care Product News, and Review of Optometry. Dr. Kerksick is an active member of the Illinois Optometric Association and American Optometric Association, a charter member of Women of Vision, and also the Director of Professional Services for Vision Source.
